FUNCTIONAL FAMILY THERAPY (FFT)
In-Home Therapist (CA) For Snohomish County

The Institute for Family Development, a statewide nonprofit agency headquartered in Federal Way, is seeking a full time FFT therapist to serve families referred by the child welfare system in Snohomish County. The Institute is an equal opportunity employer. FFT is a nationally recognized, evidence-based program for troubled adolescents and their families. The Institute delivers FFT in the homes of clients. The goal of the program is to reduce problems such as status offenses, delinquency, youth or family violence, and family conflict. Therapists carry a caseload of 10 to 12 client families at any given time, with most client appointments occurring in the evening, and travel throughout the county to meet with families. Therapists have the opportunity to participate in specialized training, consultation, and quality enhancement processes. Therapists operate as part of a supportive FFT team. Primary job functions include, but are not limited to:

Interview and conduct on-going assessments of youths and their family. Identify protective and risk factors. Target changeable risk factors for intervention.
Identify, develop and implement appropriate cognitive and behavioral intervention strategies that are sensitive to the unique characteristics of each family member, within the guidelines of the FFT Model.
Provide instruction to families to build skills and coping mechanisms. Identify external resources. Assist in improving system relationships such as school and community support systems.
Completing FFT required case record documentation as well as Institute paperwork. Both systems are web based.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field and two years experience working with families --OR-- masters degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field. Masters degree preferred. Experience working with youth and families preferred. Must live in Snohomish County.

Compensation

Starting salary $28,000 to $35,000 for masters, $22,400 to $28,300 for bachelors
10% salary add-on for bilingual skills in certain languages
Medical, dental, pension, life insurance, disability
Twenty days vacation, twelve days sick leave, and twelve paid holidays a year.
