We are seeking a CAD Specialist / Drafter. This qualified individual will be responsible for:
• Assisting engineers and designers in creating new drawings and modification of existing CAD drawings of structures, systems and components in support of nuclear plant modifications in the operating plant fleet or new plant design.
• Tasks will include interface with 3D building models, preparation of reports from the model, creating 2D drawings according to our procedures, and gathering information from engineers/designers for input into the drawings using Microstation or AutoCad tools.
• Creating and generating drawings to be used in presentations for internal and external customers, which would involve importing those drawings into MS Office applications Word or Powerpoint.
• Working under the direction of a work leader and will seek input on design assignments from engineers and designers.
Typical Projects Your Group May Work On
• 2D drawings and detailed illustrations will be provided for all structures, systems and components used in the plant design.
• Projects may include drafting and CAD design of building structures, piping, equipment and supports.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
• High School Diploma plus 4 years of related technical drawing/2D experience. An AAS, BA or non-engineering BS may be substituted for 2 years of related work experience.
• 2-4 years experience drafting using Microstation and/or AutoCAD.
• Prior Experience developing drawing in a Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or other high-tech environment.
• Good planning, communication and organization skills. Demonstrated capability in coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
• Experience with Plant Design/Building Information Management software
• 3-D drafting experience
• Prior experience in the nuclear industry or power plant design and/or construction.
• Prior experience in structural steel detailing
