As part of our entrepreneurial company, we'll rely on you to:

• Be accountable for developing web applications that meet the business objectives
• Work within an iterative methodology to quickly deliver quality software
• Use your skills to leverage industry best practices
• Use innovation and problem solving to address technical challenges
• Anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop proactive solutions without over-architecting
• Be an effective team member by training, mentoring and guiding other developers

Job requirements include:

• MySQL (5.1) and integration with web applications
• Fundamentals of Linux administration such as paging and swapping, system analysis and tuning.
• Moderate skills at administrative scripting: Shell, Perl, TK
• Monitoring, backup, restoring, logging and statistics
• Replication
• Performance tuning
• Scaling: master-slave and master-master
• Capacity planning and estimation
• Designing schemas and physical designs
• SQL scripting, views, stored procedures, cursors, prepared statements
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years experience as a DBA or equivalent

Desired qualifications include:

• Experience with data warehousing
• Experience developing application-specific, fault-tolerant distributed database mechanisms
• Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environments
• Understanding of the principals of routing, client/server programming and the design of consistent network-wide file systems
• Advanced System admin such as managing logical volumes
• Oracle experience
• Ruby or PHP
